Every time a new year rolls around I hear a ton of people saying, “I resolve to not make any resolutions.” But I like to make goals for myself. I like the challenge of putting my mind to changing something or trying something new. I’ve had a few over the years, from vowing to cook at home more often, to exercising more, and I think both of these have been pretty successful. I still could/should cook more and I should definitely exercise more, but making these goals has really caused positive change in the way we live our day-to-day lives.
Decluttering to me means organization and even simplification of our lives. Maybe we’ll need to get a storage unit just to move some of those things that we can’t throw away but don’t need to see every day. Maybe we’ll need to sell some things. Maybe I’ll need to make some hard sacrifices (I’m super sentimental). Maybe it’s as simple as only displaying a rotating collection instead of everything all at once. And we definitely need to find better ways to keep track of all the paperwork we seem to collect constantly.
