It’s Friday! I know it probably shouldn’t matter because all my days are the same, but Fridays will always be exciting, sort of like how back-to-school time is always exciting. Today is extra special because my girls are coming over for our annual cookie and wine exchange! It’s one of my favorite days of the year. I even finally put up a few holiday decorations. Seriously, I have not been able to get in the spirit this year. Is it just me? So what is going on this weekend? Are any of you doing anything fun? I’d love to hear about it!

It’s raining outside… and it’s also raining in our bathroom. Isn’t our new shower head ridiculous? Ridiculously amazing!! It’s the size of a basketball. I pretty much want to wash my hair 3 times a day. Except, ugh, isn’t blowdrying the worst? I wish I had the kind of hair that looked cute without a blowdryer.

Hmm, hot chocolate. Or a mug of marshmallows with a little hot chocolate at the bottom. (Um, I might be a little marshmallow obsessed.)

Trixie spends all day every day under the covers in bed. Oh, the life of a cat. The other day I found just her little feet peeking out of the covers.

I used my new stove for the first time this week to try something that I’ve been wanting to try for a long time…

Marshmallows! I made toasted coconut vanilla bean marshmallows and they are crazy good. If I do say so myself. (I also made gingerbread-flavored marshmallows that were a big flop. Oh well.) Every year my book club girls have a cookie exchange and every year I make cookies that are … mediocre. I’m not a cookie maker. There are things I’m good at and cookies aren’t one of them. I’ve learned to accept that. But marshmallows, well, I might be good at this, at least this particular recipe, which I sort of made up from several other recipes. Plus, I just love marshmallows. (Have I made that obvious yet? haha)
