Andy and I have always been pretty bad at planning our meals ahead. When we go to the grocery store without a plan, we end up with a bunch of random things in our fridge that don’t go together and just end up going bad and getting thrown away. Then we find ourselves going out to dinner because we have “nothing to cook.” Ugh! It’s such a waste of time and money! But we could so easily fix this with just a little planning ahead.
After over a month without a kitchen, I’ve been daydreaming about all the things I’m going to cook as soon as I can, and how I’m going to be so much more organized about it. Rachael Ray’s new book Week in a Day is perfect for this. Like her TV show of the same name, Rachael’s new book is full of tips and recipes for creating five days worth of meals in just one day of cooking and with just one bag of groceries. It sounds fun! And it’s such a great way to avoid wasting time and money.
