Burrito Baby Update // Week 29

burrito baby update / week 29

Hi guys! First I want to say thanks so much for the amazing response on the announcement of our house being for sale! That is going to go down in history as our most-read blog post EVER. Wow. It’s a pretty exciting week for us, with the open house coming up on Sunday … Don’t forget to tell your friends who might be looking for a new house!

How funny is this photo, by the way? We tried to take a photo with Ruby sitting sweetly beside me, but she was not at all interested in sitting still. But I like this one better. It also hides what might have been the wrong shoe choice for me with this dress. Now you’ll never know!

Here’s a little update on what’s going on with our little burrito baby, in case you’re interested…

WEEK: 29 // After this weekend there’s only 10 weeks to go! Right now baby girl is about 2-1/2 pounds, 15 inches long, and the size of a butternut squash!

FEELING: Wavering between mostly great and wildly uncomfortable depending on the time of day. I’ve also been feeling a lot more hungry in the third trimester. It’s no wonder, though, because this little baby needs to gain about five pounds before January, which works out to half a pound a week! Eesh, that’s a lot of Halloween candy.

DOING: In no particular order: 1. Playing with the new iPhones we both got this week. My rose gold one is sooo pretty. 2. Gearing up for the open house on Sunday with lots of last-minute mowing (Andy) and writing to-do lists (me). You know I love a good to-do list. 3. Exploring our new neighborhood. This week we tried Arrabiata’s in Bay Village and were really impressed. 4. Starting to get a little nervous about how we haven’t even started on the nursery yet, but at least we have a really solid plan that I’m SO excited to put together.

EATING: Um, everything. Mostly Halloween candy, cereal and gummy vitamins.

CRAVING: Vacation! Andy and I had some really awesome plans for our babymoon. We were going to our absolute favorite place, Excellence Playa Mujeres near Cancun, for a week of total, 100% relaxation. We had both booked our time off at work. I was trying on bathing suits. And then on the day we were going to book everything, well, we found out that we bought a house. Babymoon cancelled. Sigh. I have no regrets on buying a house, but WOW we could have used a real vacation. We’re planning a weekend roadtrip, though, which will do nicely as Plan B… minus the tropical drinks.

WEARING: Thank goodness for boots weather.  I’m pretty much living in a couple pairs of Minnetonka boots that are so comfy on my sore feet and so easy to get on and off.

MISSING: My ankles.

LOVING: Bangs! I got my bangs cut and changed my hair color last week and I’m loving the new ‘do for fall. I like to change my hair like all the time. It’s fun and it keeps me from getting bored. Originally, though, I was thinking that I didn’t want to do anything that would require maintenance once I have a newborn. But then I was like, WAIT, I don’t want to stop taking care of myself after I have a baby! I feel better about myself and about life when I get my hair cut and colored regularly, so I might as well do something that will force me to get out of the house when the baby comes. Besides, my amazing and wonderful hair stylist, who also has a little girl, said just bring the baby to the salon!

Have a great weekend, friends!!
