DIY Paper Flower Wreath

Hi guys! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. I was feeling pretty sore a lot of the weekend (I guess the third trimester arrives with a bang!), but we still got a ton done around the house(s) and even managed to hang out with friends to have fun, too! And speaking of fun, I have a fun and super easy DIY project to share with you today…

When I started crafting for my fall-floral-themed baby shower, the first thing I wanted to do was make a wreath for our front door. I love wreaths and since our new house has a screen door, we can do fun things with paper instead of needing it to be weather proof. I’m excited to try lots of new wreaths! Particularly for a party, they’re such a great way to welcome guests with the colors and themes of the party, sort of a “this is what to expect when you get inside!”

I was inspired by the flowers on our invitations from Minted.com as a jumping off point for the design. I started by scanning the invitation into my computer and then using Photoshop Elements to redraw some of the flowers into simple shapes that would cut out easily.

Then I transferred those shapes to my Cricut Explore (I seriously love this thing! And no, this post isn’t sponsored.) and had it cut out the flowers with a bunch of different colors of card stock in shades of pink, coral, orange and yellow — my kind of Fall colors. If you don’t have a Cricut or other cutting machine, you could totally do this by hand with scissors.

Once I had what seemed like enough paper flowers cut out, in various shapes, sizes and colors, which was basically a TON of flowers, I simply used hot glue to attach them to a flat wreath form. These forms are great if you have a screen door because they don’t take up much space.

I love how this wreath turned out, and it really brightens up our front door!

And next I want to make a Halloween wreath!
