Burrito Baby Update // Week 31

31 weeks

Ha, how funny is this comparison of 15 weeks and 31 weeks? All that belly in just the last four months. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of my tummy in the mirror and think WHO IS THAT?! It’s a weird feeling to experience such enormous changes in your body in such a short time.

Can we go ahead and also mention how amazing this week’s weather has been?! Ruby and I went for a walk yesterday and got downright hot! In November!

Well, here’s a little update on what’s happening with this burrito baby, in case you’re interested…

WEEK: 31 // As of tomorrow I’ll be 8 months pregnant! We’re in the home stretch now! This week baby was about 16 inches long, weighed over 3 pounds, and was the size of a COCONUT. I wonder if that’s why I can’t stop eating Almond Joys?? I love coconut!

FEELING: Hiccups. So many hiccups! Baby gets hiccups about 2-3 times a day, which is really normal, but they feel so funny, like, well, hiccups, except they’re not mine and they’re down in my tummy. They’re actually happening right now while I write. It’s cute. Yelling “BOO” doesn’t make them stop, though. I’ve tried. Other than that I’m feeling overall really good still, just increasingly uncomfortable and increasingly not able to do normal things, which is so frustrating. Like, sometimes Andy has to help me get my shoes off. That is, when I can even get shoes on.

DOING: We’re finally getting started on the nursery this weekend! It’s just priming the walls for now, but it’s a step in the right direction. You may have seen on Instagram that I think we picked a paint color (because how could we not use that one???). As soon as we iron out a few more details, we’ll share our overall design plans on the blog. I’m sooooo excited to see how it all comes together and so excited to show it to you!!

EATING: I haven’t had any crazy aversions or cravings throughout my pregnancy, so my diet is pretty much the same as it was before. I find that I just need to stick to a more regular eating schedule or I get lightheaded and super hungry in a split second. In case you’re curious, I usually have a bowl of cereal (rice krispies with fresh fruit or maybe coco krispies) at 8 am, a couple pieces of toast with jam at 10, leftovers for lunch at noon, an apple with caramel sauce in the afternoon, and then dinner around 8 pm is either whatever Blue Apron sent us or something we make from scratch. Of course there’s also a few pieces of Halloween candy thrown in throughout the day. I oddly eat pretty much this exact thing every single day. I guess I’m a creature of habit!

CRAVING: At the moment I would absolutely LOVE a piece of chocolate cake. Or maybe a whole entire chocolate cake. But that’s just normal, right? No hormones here, guys.

WEARING: Is it socially acceptable to wear slippers out of the house?

MISSING: Simple things: bending over, putting pants on without needing to take a nap afterwards, sharing a bottle of bubbly with Andy after a long day, living in just one house (but that’s not pregnancy related).

LOVING: Our family baby shower is next week and we’re really excited about it! Andy’s brother and his girlfriend are coming into town and it’s going to be a lot of fun to see them. Of course I’m nervous about opening presents in front of everyone, but I’m making Andy come with me this time to share the spotlight. It’s only fair.

P.S. There are still a bunch of things for sale in our blog garage sale, if you want to check it out!!
